TOURS IN DENMARK

TOURS IN DENMARK

Denmark, officially  the Kingdom of Denmark  Kongeriget Denmark, is a nation situated in Scandinavia in northern Europe. It is the southernmost of the Nordic countries. The mainland is bordered to the south by Germany; Denmark is located to the southwest of Sweden and the south of Norway. Denmark borders both the Baltic and the North sea.
Denmark, the smallest Scandinavian country, is a mix of rural and urban with ancient castles and modern designs found throughout. Denmark is a country where cycling is a popular pastime with thousands of kilometers of established cycling routes. Swimming, windsurfing, yachting and fishing are other outdoor opportunities to enjoy.
Denmark is a country with a long and interesting history, a vibrant culture; but it’s also a nation that is fiercely proud of the fact that it’s a modern and developed nation, one of the most prosperous countries of West Europe. With such a combination, it’s hardly surprising that Denmark is pretty popular on tourist itineraries.
One of the strange laws of Denmark is that the restaurants cannot charge you for the water unless you order some other item with it such as ice or lemon slice. The official language is Danish. Many Danes also speak English, German or French.

Tourist Information

Denmark is easy to get to by plane, train, boat or car. Copenhagen is a major European air travel hub and is served by several international airlines. Many European budget airlines, including Ryan air and Easy jet, fly to Denmark. Many cheap flights and some flights from other Scandinavian countries land at smaller airports around the country.

The Danish public transportation network is modern and efficient, and trains and buses cover most areas. Thanks to its small size, the country is also easy to get around by car or by motorbike, but renting a car in Denmark can be expensive.

There are now various Motherlands in locations all over Denmark; these are activity parks where a flat entrance fee covers the visitor for use of all the many and varied facilities inside.

Denmark has an abundance of picturesque villages and towns, historic castles and monuments, and a coastline which varies delightfully from broad sandy beaches to small coves and gentle fjords.  Though there are few holiday resorts of the kind found in, say, France or Spain the Danes, who are taking strong measures to keep their coastline clean and tidy, are keen for visitors to sample the many unspoilt beaches.
